Due to the issues that arose from having two children on the Spectrum and on going problems with the local school system, she gave up her job at a local doctor's office to devote her time to home schooling and other therapies for her children. Wanting and missing her Equine Brothers and Sisters in the community and desperately missing her therapeutic time with her own horses, along with her Friend and Assistant Care Giver to her children , Alesha, ...... They started Desiderata Equine Essentials.

The name Desiderata Came about due to a favorite poem by Max Ehrmann .
It's a piece that Charis reads almost on a daily basis as a reminder on how she feels she should live her own life.

Charis's Children still stay involved in riding , and Charis recently received her Barn management certificate through New Horizons. She will Always be Thankful and feel Truly Blessed for each and every person she has met along the way,.... that opened her eyes and introduced one God's most Beautiful , Powerful , and Healing creatures to her.
